A discussion has arisen in Antwerp regarding the return of a Thora scroll to the Jewish community. The Hendrik Conscience Heritage Library r
eceived the scroll during the Second World War: nobody collected it again afterwards.
Attempts by successive librarians to try and retrieve the original owner of the Thora scroll remain unsuccessful. Until now, no document has ever been found which links the scroll to its owner.
The library will therefore create a scientific commission to resolve this case – hopefully once and forever.
