Brill and the Universitary Libraries of Leiden have digitalized 110,000 pages of Arab manuscripts. The collection is presented under the title “Pioneer Orientalists: The manuscripts Collections of Scaliger, Raphelengius and Golius”. Leiden has a world famous collection of Middle Eastern manuscripts, some very rare or even unique. In total, the collections encompasses 267 manuscripts, good for 303 volumes and 109,517 pages. Most of the texts are written in Arab, with secondary texts in Ottoman Turkish and Persian. Some 30 volumes have already been digitalized.
